Today at work, we had a Pecha Kucha session to introduce ourselves to the new Asia-Pac boss. This is the slide I presented about myself and the entire session was pretty fun listening to everyone’s introduction and slides.
Pecha Kucha is in fact a presentation format that was devised by a couple of Japanese where 20 slides are presented for 20s each. As the official website aptly puts its “the art of concise presentations”. Having 20 people in our team, we finished the entire team introduction in 6 minutes and 40s.
As science communicators, I think being crisp, clear and concise is of essence in order to get the message across especially since we are living in a society immersed in the culture of immediacy. It also kind of reminded me of 60s Science that we did for class a couple months ago.
Anywho, you can view amazing presentations on a wide variety of topics at the official website.
