YODA: A step towards Open Science!

Last week in class we learnt about all the black sheep in science and research and it is really refreshing to read this piece of news on Science Mag!

The Yale University Open Data Access Project (YODA) is a joint partnership between Johnson and Johnson (J&J) and Yale School of medicine in which J&J will share raw data from many of its clinical trials and Yale will review and make final decisions regarding all requests for information from investigators and physicians on the company’s drug clinical trials, including anonymous patient data.

Transparency has become a hot topic in scientific research in recent years and this announcement is definitely a shift forward in a time of growing pressure from researchers and regulatory officers surrounding the secrecy of many drug trials.

(it also makes me a little proud, that one of my clients is paving the way for the rest!)
